Forest Floor
After a hike way back in June 2019, I had the image of a forest floor burned into my mind. I then felt compelled to create my own vision of one and started this drawing later that same day. For this exploration, I wanted to feel it out and see where my mind would go with just the loose idea of a forest floor bed and no real plan outside of that. As I explored all the shapes and values associated, I watched as my natural subject spread across the page organically, one leaf at a time. Most of the lines you see in here were made with a .25 gel pen, with the larger areas filled in with a .6. After way too long because of life and other projects - I can finally call this done!
